1. It takes some getting used to...
but I believe that the American people love this and aren't as stupid and gullible as we've been led to believe by Bush and the ever-pandering-to-slogans-and-propaganda MSM.

4. I don't think so...prior to that she felt his answers to the questions
were too long and he needs a sound bite. I disagree...I want a President that can answer a 4 part question.

3. didn't like that rachel said that.. but she does make a point
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 09:23 PM by Sebass1271
some americans with their short span need something short so they can remember they reasons for supporting some sort of legislation. In this case, the stimulus package.

but rachel could have said it differently. Ilove PO's answers.. I feel i am learning when I listen to him. He is absolutely brilliant.

5. I love his answers too and I think the people of america appreciate it...
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 09:26 PM by firedupdem
we had the short dumb answers with the shrub. Most intelligent folks weren't impressed.

I just told my husband that he's been the only one that makes me feel I'm learning something.

I didn't appreciate wonky at all.

13. I missed it
I didn't see her show, but are you sure she didn't mean he was a political wonk?

wonk
n. Slang.
A student who studies excessively; a grind.
One who studies an issue or a topic thoroughly or excessively: “leading a talkathon of policy wonks in a methodical effort to build consensus for his programs” (Michael Kranish).

16. That may be the case, but where does the "sermon" part come in?
I can easily interpret that to be a disturbing remark with hints of...
I'm just going to let it go and be glad I turned to the Bachelor before she began her complaints.

6. Everyone loves Rachael but I think she just likes finding stuff to get mad about.

18. Not everyone loves Rachel, count me among them. I had my fill of
her during the primaries, and her "Talk Me Down" segment. I only watch Rachel if there's absolutely nothing else on.

7. Too wonky for the average M$M "news"person, probably,
but nice that a president does not think the American people are too dumb to understand.

8. I think people who like their politics shrunk down to a bumper sticker probably don't
watch press conferences. Too educationally disadvantaged, and too short attention spans.

15. that's what I was thinking, too.
You can't make it easy enough for some people. They'll have it on and then start talking about something else or go to the fridge for a snack or whatever.

People who wanted to watch it, watched and listened intently and it wasn't too hard to understand. He didn't use such big words. I believe a committed twelve year old would have understood him.

But you have to want to listen.

21. and thus you have the "dittoheads" and bumper sticker slogans..
that's what a lot of Americans like and can only deal with.....after 8 years of simple minded politics with * , they can only handle simple answers, and simple solutions. :banghead:

thread because I found it odd that she would describe the press conference using those particular words.

24. I've been saying that for months now. She is more often wrong than right on the politics
side of things.

I also took offense to something she said when responding to a question by Keith. She said that Obama needs to give some "sound bite" answers. Sheesh. That is EXACTLY what we MUST get away from. We're all sick to death of sound bite politics and that is NOT what this country needs.
