Yesterday I heard what I wanted to hear--no free money and accountability.
No more business as usual. Now that's what this stimulus package is all about, isn't it? Restoring confidence in the market is the whole point and you can't do that unless people can trust that those in charge of making these types of transactions can do so with integrity. Besides, wasn't the big objection to the TARP that it was a blank check? Now the Rs and the chattering class want no strings attached for their buddies in the fianancial citadels. But I heard just what I've been waiting to hear. Both from the President and Geithner. I think pointing out the stench of hypocrisy would be a timely venture--while big business and it's pet political party learn some new rules.
