Jindal picked to give Repug response to President Obama's speech before Congress
La. Governor Picked for G.O.P. Spotlight
By Kate Phillips

Considered one of the rising (and youngest) stars in the Republican party, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana has just snared another coup. Republican leaders announced today that he’s been selected to deliver the G.O.P.’s response to President Obama’s speech before a joint session of Congress on Feb. 24.

Mr. Jindal, whose name was floated as a possible vice-presidential partner for Senator John McCain during last year’s campaign, will speak from Baton Rouge.

Mitch McConnell, the minority leader in the Senate, said in a statement: “Governor Jindal’s leadership during a time of recovery in Louisiana, his commitment to real government reform, and his protection of hardworking American families make him an excellent choice to offer Republican solutions for the challenges which lay ahead.”

The Louisiana governor has become one to watch among those in the next generation of leaders.

2. No sure...
But it was a smooth move to have Jindal step up now. Couple him with Steele and package them as the "new face of the Repubug party." That's all they got.

5. Possibly another stunt by the GOP
I don't know too much about Gov. Jindal, but based on recent actions "Steele and Palin" it just seems like the GOP is making another lame attempt at courting minorities.
They don't actually care about minorities but are more then willing to wave another token in front of them to garner support for their party. Jindal could be a decent guy, as I said I don't know much about him, but too me I think it's just another shamefully GOP ploy.

8. What about the three stars of the GOP:
Sam the Plumber's Assistant.
Sarah the AWOL Governor.
Rush, the drug-addled spewer of hate and lies.

Oh, right. None of the above can string together a coherent sentence/thought. Forgot.

(I mean, it's still slim pickins). He's a nutjob, but can talk in complete sentences, which is more than I can say for Sarah Palin.
