2. The Civil Rights Act was passed July 1964 |

FDR got the Emergency Conversation Work Act (begining of the CCC) passed in March 1933, his first month in office.

Considering what a monumental change it proposed, it moved quickly. 40 plus years later, we tend to forget how deeply entrenched segregation was in this country.
I agree; he's a remarkable man.
