Is a second stimulus package in the works? |
It seems like a lot of important thing were left out of this stimulus package. A lot of Economists and pundits are not 100% pleased. Will there be another stimulus package? Can we get a second one to 'fill in the blanks' of this package?

1. It's obvious we're going to need more than what has already passed. |
Whether or not the Pukes and Blue Dogs allow what needs to be done to be done is the question. President Obama is going to be in a dogfight with the corporatists the whole way.

The one that passed, with it's 19% content for infrastructure, is the ceremonial shovelful of dirt into the open grave of our economy - a salve on the gaping wound of our financial system. The underpinning of our distress is still not addressed. We are, at best, delaying the inevitable by pumping soon-to-be worthless dollars into thin air. Our only hope is that Obama takes control of the debate.

3. Two years until the next one? |
Assuming that what passes is indeed insufficient, I wonder if it is at least enough to get us passably through the next two years (i.e. with some improvement, albeit not as much as we need). The possibility of 60 dems in the Senate two years from now means that might be when the bolder moves could be made, when something with less compromise could be passed.
