ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and US President Barack Obama on Wednesday agreed to start active engagement for the resolution of problems facing the region through a holistic strategy. United States President Barack Obama spoke with President Asif Ali Zardari on telephone.

This was Obama's first direct interaction with the President of Pakistan after taking over as President. President Zardari congratulated him on assuming the office of US President and expressed the hope that there would be a beneficial change for the world, particularly for their region and Pak-US relations. The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations, situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest.

2. That's one of the oddly wonderful things about America
As for Obama- I have high hopes that he will indeed bring people together in the ME in a positive manner.
