Pelosi's MARSH MOUSE Funding: TOTAL LIE
What a surprise. I've seen this regurgitated by idiots here on DU.

--snip--

Pelosi’s Office: Conservative Talking Point About $30 Million For Mice Is “Fabrication”
Is there really $30 million in the new stimulus package devoted to saving the salt marsh mouse in Nancy Pelosi’s district?

That’s what some conservatives are now charging, and the claim seems to be gaining some traction with elected GOP officials and conservative media outlets, who are using it to argue that the bill is stuffed with Dem pork.

But there isn’t any such money in the bill. And Pelosi’s office is saying that the claim is a “total fabrication.”

2. IMO, Nothing
But the point is they're just making shit up to try to show there's "pork" in the bill and to try to smear Pelosi.

Soon.

There's stuff in the stimulus that might open up some opportunities for you, including a nice chunk for NIH.

12. He did, today, and made an ass of himself, as usual. Plus,
are there marshlands in San Fran? That I didn't know, but he claimed this was to benefit Pelosi's district.

16. Bay wetland restoration...
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 04:42 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
SF is surrounded by water on three sides, the eastern side by the SF Bay. One the Bay side there are plans for as much wetland restoration as possible -- much of the shoreline was developed in the past (lots of commercial shipping, the Bayview Hunters Point Naval shipyard, Candlestick Park) and there is a big move to recreation and restoration.

I think it is great!

On edit:

The salt mouse appears to live primarily in the South Bay, not her district at all.

Here are some links on the wetlands restotarion going on around the Bay:

9. Isn't this actually money going towards saving wetlands? You know, the environment and ecosystem?
It's just that the marsh mouse lives in these wetlands.

So, according to Repukes, $30 million for the environment and ecosystem translates directly to $30 million for "a stupid mouse".

18. I know I'm biased, but Democrats don't lie this blatantly.
Seriously, how many outright lies have Republicans been guilty of over the years? Our side doesn't do that.
