1. That's a real waste of economic talent. Krugman could be on the CEA.

12. Was only throwing out a name
I could get into suggesting that it is easy saying you do not want a job if you have not been offered one.

16. He may not want a position
but he would never turn down Obama at such an important time in our country's history.

26. You mean Mr Paul ENRON Krugman?
Krugman writes in The Great Unraveling that:

"I was no more perceptive than anyone else; during the
bull market years [of the late 1990s] some people did send me
letters claiming that major corporations were cooking their
books, but - to my great regret - I ignored them."

So? Let's ignore him!

8. I could be wrong, but
I think Krugman is more of a theoretician than a practical, hands-on kind of guy.

10. I think Krugman, Howard Dean, Wes Clark are too liberal for Obama's views...
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 04:59 PM by GreenTea
he prefers more moderate to right, even republicans over the in-the-republican-faces progressive democrats, like Dean, Krugman, Clark, etc...

The only two nominations I can think of that I truly like are Obama's choice for Attorney General and Secretary of Labor.

27. Look at the policy positions
Clark's positions- especially on economic matters are more progressive than the Obama administration's.

20. He should of just hired John Thompson like it was rumored.
He fit the profile of Commerce Secretary. Smart Business Man.

But at this point. He should find the most qualified woman for the job. Another woman would be a record for women in his cabinet. Maybe move Karen Mills from SBA to Commerce Secretary.

23. Commerce is probably the worst place imaginable to put him.
Why would you give him such an utterly meaningless job? Do you have the faintest idea of what the Commerce secretary does?
