Obama: Heads we win, Tails you lose |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 11:25 PM by andym
So far it appears that President Obama's bipartisan strategy is brilliant Basically it's Heads we win, Tails you lose. If the Republicans compromise, then they are driven toward the center, lose their ideological extremism and will then have problems with their base. If they oppose the President, then they marginalize themselves as obstructionists in the face of a national emergency and will have problems for years to come with the American electorate.
This strategy will force the few remaining Northeastern moderate Republicans out of the mainstream of their party and probably doom the party for years to come.

1. Except when the economy totally tanks they can say they didn't vote for the stim. |
|
That is gonna be a big problem. The huge flaming pile of poo bush left is not going to easily be fixed with the dem stimulus package.

2. And Obama will say that their obstructionism was probably fatal.. |
|
And in this scenario the President will say that their obstructionism (and blockage of needed spending) was probably fatal.
Although, we have to hope that the economy will recover for all of our sakes.

3. Obama won't be blamed for everything up through June. |
|
Luckily, that will probably be the worst part of the downswing.
