Pelosi Daughter's 'Right America' Set for HBO

HBO will debut Alexandra Pelosi’s documentary “Right America: Feeling Wronged” on Monday, Presidents Day.

Subtitled “Some Voices From the Campaign Trail,” the 44-minute documentary by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter engages conservative followers of 2008 GOP candidate John McCain’s Straight Talk Express who see their hopes dashed in the wake of the Democratic victory.

---

A fierce media critic, Pelosi once told a gathering of NYU journalism students that the media is “the biggest problem that we have in America right now.” In that vein, she authored the 2005 book, “Sneaking into the Flying Circus: How the Media Turn Our Presidential Campaigns into Freak Shows,” in which she documents a “dysfunctional relationship” that includes “absurd hazing rituals” that candidates must endure.

A lifelong Democrat, Pelosi covered that party’s 2004 candidates for her HBO film “Diary of a Political Tourist.”

1. I like seeing the pain on Republican faces when they lose.
I was one of the sick fucks who actually enjoyed the photo of Rick Santorum's family crying like babies when he lost to Casey.

4. Even though I didn't see the entire documentary,
the segment that I did see was well done. She did a great job of humanizing the man and showing how far he has fallen.

12. A. Pelosi said how different between coasts, but only used example of the extreme south.
I don't think we use the extremes of campaign emotion.

13. I think A. Pelosi mentioned the Deep South only to make a point to Rachel that
if Rachel was exposed to the extreme prejudices that some southerners have that she would not have the same idealist view as President Obama -- that America is one nation and not divided by our differences.

I agree that we on the left don't usually go to the extreme negative emotions that were so highlighted by the McCain campaign with their death threats and wishing for our candidate's death. However, we on the left do still get pretty impassioned especially against bigotry.
