18. I've just decided that Fux News and the other enablers of RW nuttery

are probably a blessing in disguise.

I mean, we could say that Fux (and the others like it) are aiding and abetting this craziness, but I'm not so sure of that. Even if Fux and Limbaugh and all the rest disappeared tomorrow, the crazies would still be out there.

The "blessing" in disguise I see is that perhaps many of the people who write such sick things will have an outlet instead of stuffing it all down to come out later inappropriately (like taking actual ACTION instead of just talking about it).

Plus...it's sort of like "bait". A central place for kooks to gather (like flies on a dog turd) where the SS can keep an eye on them. As opposed to having them scattered around, anonymous and waiting for the chance to pull something really awful.

Although really...the ones I worry about are the ones who don't say anything. The silent types who plot and plan in their heads and look "normal" to friends and family and co-workers and all of a sudden one day...boom. And people are so surprised.
