1. I notice Clark is getting a lot of "buzz" lately -- It's pretty cool.
The media seems to be picking up on the Dean vs. Clark story.

and a 2nd place finish in the primary. He'll draw enough attention from that to get a serious look from the public. One, sustained, serious look is all it will take and Clark will be unstoppable.

14. I grew up in New Hampshire
And participated in a lot of Democratic primaries.

I have a couple of opinions about it from my experience.

First, people in New Hampshire don't care what goes on in Iowa. No offense. But people in New Hampshire call each other up and make a decision.

Second, things can really change fast as the primary approaches. I'm thinking of Gary Hart in '84 who CAUGHT FIRE in the last week and blew past Walter Mondale. One and two percent a day is not slow and steady. It's surging and it has a way of building on itself. General Wesley Clark will be the story coming out of New Hampshire.

I'm going to start calling another level of people in New Hampshire and urge them to support General Clark's candidacy. Like my old high school teachers. Anyone I can remember.

This is pretty good news. I'll be completely thrilled with a Clark 2nd in NH. If he can top 20% then that is a major accomplishment imo.

23. Holey Moley!!!! A 10 pt. swing per week??
As people start to pay attention and get to know the candidate's, i expected this swing in the South, but not in Dr. Dean's back yard.

Better get those Xerox machines in high gear Dr. Dean....

There's only one way to explain this without spin: as voters get to know the candidates: Clark goes up. Dean goes down.

We just might get the chimp out of there yet.

so does his poll numbers. Typical self-fulfilling prophecy crap we see with Bush. Pundits say he can't lose, so...

Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 12:36 PM by Kahuna
and bitchin' about attackers getting behind him because, "somebody's got to be the winner" (read: I will win so give up now you losers), was the last straw.

As Wesley Clark learned, the media will build you up so that they can gleefully tear you down. Maybe it's time for Dean to learn that too.

P.S. What ever happened to that "kitchen cabinet" announcement?

41. Yes...
Lieberman is currently in a far-away 4th place in a neighboring state. Such a poor showing in NH would pretty much put the final nail in his campaign.

If Kerry can't make second or a very very close third, he, too, is in trouble.
