Come on then; you dirty stupid Republicans. We are ready for the Health Battle.
Bloomberg the other day allowed a certain Betsy McCaughey to bigot on about healthcare.

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

Wow - they already have a website - that was quick

http://www.hhs.gov/healthit/bios.html

and a Director.

Oh no it was not quick. The agency already existed. The whole basis of the Republibigots story was a lie.

What she does not reveal and nor does Bloomberg, is that this dirty Republican is a paid lobbyist for the healthcare industry. So there are obvious reasons why this Dirty Republican would be pushing scare stories.

Huffington & Keith O take the bigot down a peg or three.

This is what the Agency does

Health Information Technology
Health information technology (Health IT) allows comprehensive management of medical information and its secure exchange between health care consumers and providers. Broad use of health IT will:

* Improve health care quality;
* Prevent medical errors;
* Reduce health care costs;
* Increase administrative efficiencies;
* Decrease paperwork; and
* Expand access to affordable care.

Interoperable health IT will improve individual patient care, but it will also bring many public health benefits including:

* Early detection of infectious disease outbreaks around the country;
* Improved tracking of chronic disease management; and
* Evaluation of health care based on value enabled by the collection of de-identified price and quality information that can be compared.

Do the Republibigots give up? No they twist the scare story to make it worse.

http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com/2009/02/10/ruin-your-health-with-the-obama-stimulus-plan-better-yet-just-die/

This dirty bigot claims that the Institute will make life or death decisions and that the old will be left to die.

Treatments will be “monitored” to make sure you don’t cost the government too much money if you are sick, Comrade.

Especially if you are kind of old. You know how old and disabled people are just such a drain on communist societies. Some leaders even eliminated them in the past. What was that guy’s name again?

This is just one little example of what the far right will be pushing when the battle for health care starts. Lies.

Why pick on this bigotbot, when there are so many others that could have been highlighted?

This bigotbot claims to have been a Hillary supporter and promotes itself as a PUMA.

The Rethug she got her story from is the Rethug that stopped Universal Helthcare so many years back and ran a campaign of lies and misinformation not just against universal health care, but also Hillary Clinton. Now this bigotbot is doing the bidding of that very Rethug

All they have is fear and lies and it will not work - just as it did not work in the election.

Deal with it, you dirty bigot liars.

1. You're right that the GOP will stop at nothing to hurt this country further
We've got to be strong, tough and fight them at everything! We've got to point out their flaws, their scandals, expose how crooked they are, and remind everyone about it constantly. It's the only way we'll get it through Americans' heads that these people destroyed our country and want to continue doing so.

Everyone, K&R this post!

4. That commentary is typical Pubic email trash. The stuff they always pass around.
It's already going around my office via email. The commentary is full of lies, of course (I checked, and then CNN and KO did stories on the commentary and its false "facts").

Time to roll up our shirsleeves. This is gonna get nasty! And I, usually one for nonconfrontation and for compromise up to a point, am:

Cruisin' for a bruisin' on this one!
Ready to go to the mat on this one!
Ready to knock it outta the ballpark!
Ready to make one for the gipper!
Get knocked down and get back up!
Ready to take it on the chin, and ask for more!

Something MUST be done about healthcare. The time is now. As Obama once said, "WE are the ones we've been waiting for." (I think he was quoting someone.)

BRING 'EM ON!!!!

}( :evilgrin: :mad: :kick:

5. Doctors can't make those decisions now. Insurance companies do.
Here we have the insurance companies fighting for their lives. They don't want "we the people" to even watch how they wrongly and regularly deny medical treatment to sick people in order to pad their bottom lines.

Disgusting.

I'm with the OP. Bring it on!

The United States is a LIBERAL Country.
