Unemployed Republicans disagreeing with the Stimulus Package should forfeit checks after 26 weeks |
|
Edited on Sun Feb-15-09 06:06 PM by zulchzulu
I would like to see just how principled Republicans who are unemployed and disagree with the Stimulus Package.
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage and the rest of them should tell their supporters that disagree with Obama's Stimulus Package and are getting unemployment checks to forfeit their checks after 26 weeks from the new extension of 45 weeks.
If the Stimulus Package is so bad, so wasteful, so whatever, then surely these unemployed Republicans would gladly give up their money and send it back to the government. No, they can't spend it or contribute it to any cause. They either have to send the checks back or rip them up and throw them away.
Do you think Republicans would stand up and put their money where their mouth is?

1. There was post yesterday in which someone...sorry I cannot remember who--suggested that |
|
participation in the benefits of the stimulus package should be an opt-in by Congressional District. Each rep has to say that s/he wants their district to get some of the $$ from the stimulus package, or they do not get anything. It would be interesting to see what would happen to all those repuke objections in that case.

2. Republics are never unemployed |
|
It is like their religion that there is no such thing as unemployment. If they lose their jobs, they get another.
Must be they were born into families with good connections. They believe it is their hard work and superior talent. But they steadfastly do not believe in the possibility of not being able to find a job. They simply do not recognize it. They have never experienced it, or the threat thereof.

5. I'd like to take that up a notch |
|
and suggest that anybody who disparages/wants to eliminate programs be forced to do without the services provided by that program. For instance, if they don't like entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, etc. then they should refuse to accept them when they become eligible. Those people so galled over the idea of government-provided health insurance, like....um....many congresscritters.. should drop their government plans and put their faith in the private health insurance industry. After all, they keep telling us over and over again that it's the best system on the planet, right? And so on.......................................
