The multi-pronged Attacks against Pres. Obama are starting to work -
Edited on Wed Feb-18-09 03:37 AM by FrenchieCat
He has lost 4 points in his approval rating in 4 days!

He's down to 62 percent approval according to Gallup.
http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

Guess if the media repeats really loudly 789 BILLION DOLLARS STIMULUS and make it seem like it will do very little, some folks start buying it.

Guess he's not superman afterall.
Guess he he's just a human President given a multitude of fucked up situations,
and given about 10 minutes to solve them all, and make everything better!

So when one wants to kick his ass for what was said in a distorted article without attribution,
just remember how much help overeacting will do to help in achieving our common goals. By that, I mean, we can inflame attitudes by posting some fucked up article accusing President Obama of standing by Bush's secrecy or some bullshit like that, but then we must be just as willing to kiss universal Health Care goodbye based on the badwill that we are spreading just because we can.

Just sayin'.

BTW, The Talking heads are gonna love this!
They are going to be rubbing their hands shortly!
It will be their story starting tomorrow.....

1. Yes, Cutie,
Edited on Wed Feb-18-09 03:31 AM by elleng
you KNOW a lie repeated often enough

"A lie, repeated often enough, will end up as truth. Dr Paul Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda (1933-1945), invented the Big Lie theory."

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-04/14/content_323217.htm

The U.S. media, along with Reps, is a constant follower of Goebbels.

We had, and have NOW, a HUGE task.

2. Sometimes I believe some of us are too righteous for our own good.
And when the shit goes all crazy, we'll be scratching our collective asses,
trying to figure out what happened.

19. In order for us to get the country back,
we're going to have to have a very big pile of bodies of Big Media members stacked up somewhere. All this hand-wringing and whining is just prolonging the inevitable.

I PRAY (and I am NOT a pray-er) that it will not be lost on folks here. If WE could incorporate it into our thinking selves, we could REALLY be constructive.

Cause that is the only way we will be able to help ourselves....since at the end of the day,
that really is the point.

5. I don't expect his approval ratings to stay in the upper 60's for long, that would be Superman....
...ratings or ratings after rallying like Clinton during impeachment.

When the stimulus kicks in and after a couple of years of upswings

6. Well, I'd like it to stay up for as long as possible.....
Cause he's got a mighty long way to go and a mighty number of things to get done.....probably more to get done than any other President before him.

7. Yeap, I agree so I'd be looking at his 4 week average using PEW, Gallup and some other non
...con affiliated polling resources. But a 59 DEM member senate can go along way to hedge against anything below 50, Franken issues need to be cleared if not then the polling becomes more important before Obama makes another big move.

Those bastard in the Bush admin knew he'd have to use some of those popularity points for something like the stimulus...I don't trust them

9. Here's a good article.....
Less than a month into the Obama presidency it has become clear bipartisanship will be as much a pipedream for Mr. Obama as it was for George W. Bush and Bill Clinton before him — and for FDR more than 70 years ago.

Like FDR, Mr. Obama plans to use his congressional majorities – and public support in the polls – to enact his agenda.

10. .
We are teetering on the edge of an economic abyss. Many people are in denial about the dangerousness of our position. If the US falls into depression the world falls with us. A global economic disaster means millions of people will die. Hunger. Disease. Riots. Social upheaval. War.

One of the important weapons in Obama's arsenal to make the changes needed to deal with this crisis is the support of the American people.

This is no tea party. It's not political games as usual. You expect the stupid Repugs to attack Obama, and the MSM to facilitate them, but to see some people on the left joining with the Repug/media gang to undermine Obama is very disappointing. In our current circumstances it's downright scary.

11. I guess folks aren't thinking about the whole.....
just about their little bit.

Wonder what they'll do once it affects them in a way
that they couldn't have ever imagined?

Blame the President, I guess.

14. Look- the corporate media isn't just going to up and change its stripes
We're dealing with an ingrained system and inertia.

Fact is- the people whose behaviors got us to this point are going to gnash about like cornered animals. It's to be expected.

Which means that all of us- and our representatives need to act accordingly.

16. It's the weekend slump....
... that he always goes through. He was even today and will no doubt go up tomorrow.

The cool kids (ie the Obama supporters) have social lives and aren't home on the weekends when the Gallup folks call like the right wing losers are. :)

This happened all during the election. Breathe Frenchie, breathe! :)

Edited on Wed Feb-18-09 11:28 PM by AtomicKitten
Sure they will try. The rightwing loons will keep barking. The difference is we have ammunition in Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Dave Letterman, etc., etc. who are speaking up. SNL moved public opinion in a big way, and I feel pretty okay this go. I'm starting to actually believe Obama's got it.

Edited to bring you:
