Obviously, since Christians are the dominant religious group in this country, they are the most widely represented among the religious right, but there is a significant Jewish religious right too, the ones that the Christian right regard as the "good" Jews because they tend to work with them on a lot of issues. I call upon Christians to reject Phelps and his ilk. It is up to them to clean their own house, to make clear that they are with the least among us, not with the haters.

Christians who are willing to look at huge signs that proclaim "God Hates FAGS" should not expect respect from those that they attack in public. Never seen any preacher or congregation stand against Phelps, to counter his voice. They could. They don't. They let him be the voice.


Hyperbole, it is fun and it was also the primary modality of humor in the time of Christ. Tell me 'if you eye offends you, pluck it out'...you do know that is hyperbolic humor used to make a point, correct?
No sweet soul, not all Christians are like Phelps. That should be obvious. That should go without saying. Sorry to go over your head.
The clear statement: those who wish to uplift the Christ ought to consider what is done by haters in His name and therefore your name. Standing by without action is wrong.
