How Obama Can Close Limbaugh's Mouth |
|
Obama should use his Justice Dept, FBI, Drug Enforcement, etc. and truly, really investigate this guy. There is NO way that he could suck down the unbelievable amounts of Oxy he did, go away for a few weeks, and come back and say "I'm cured". He doesn't have the balls to have to go through the treatment. And all you have to do is look at him jumping and raving around and yelling at a microphone to know that he is either mentally wacked, still on the Oxy or both.
Also, Obama should let the IRS investigate since it is not uncommon for people deep into drugs to also be moving monies around and playing games with the IRS. Before Limbaugh got his hand slapped over his possession of drugs because Jeb, George and their friends wanted to make sure he kept selling the propaganda slop to the sheep. Now it's time for a real investigation. Be it Bush, Cheney, their administration of criminals OR Limbaugh, it's time that people who are breaking the law do the time.

1. Let Limbaugh do his thing ... |
|
He's actually helping the left and the GOP'ers who are brainwashed by his drivel don't even realize it.

Let him do what Limbaugh does. Of course if the Enquirer were to drudge (oops-dredge) up some muck from the bottom, all the better :)

10. Agreed. Rush is a fool if he is herded in for something let it be |
|
something sustainable.
His personal drug use (along with him using friends or workers' names to get the prescription drug) is no cause for arrest and conviction. I am consistent across the board in thinking drug use needs treatment. Drug dealers, cartels, and growers may have a better case for arrest.
I think regulated drug use, like alcohol use, is a better solution.

3. He should have the Bush administration investigated - that will shut them ALL up. |

For crying out loud, they fucking lied us into a god damn WAR. Tapped our phones, tortured men who weren't even charged with a crime, etc., etc.
There are WHOLE WEBSITES DEDICATED to listing these things...
Putting aside JUSTICE, for Pete's sake, if he would DO HIS JOB, excuse me, it wouldn't be an abuse of power, the political response would be to put them on the fucking defensive, stop them from framing the arguments and turn them into being reactive, and expose the whole lie of conservative politics for the hypocritical organized crime syndicate that it is.

5. In other words, by being a Dick (Nixon) |
|
Using the state's police powers for political retribution? Didn't we just kick that out a few months ago?
Limbaugh would just play the martyr for so obvious a tactic, and he's not THAT important.
Pull the plug on his sugar daddies and he's just another complaining crank.

6. I think the more Limbaugh is ignored, the more he gets marginalized |
|
He can make himself look like an idiot without any help. Also, I get the feeling the Obama people are trying very hard to avoid any appearance of vindictiveness or spite. Using government resources to go after him could backfire on the administration.
I think just an occasional reminder to the public will be effective. He needs to remind the public that the Republican party takes its marching orders from a drug addled entertainer with no experience or education in policy.
If I had voted for any of those clowns, I would be pi$$ed off about that!

12. I don't think it is either ignore Rush or prosecute Rush |
|
It is more like take these Republican talking points to task and expose the lies. NOT everyone at once, just those dedicated bloggers who confront lies. The politicians need to do their jobs getting us through Reagan-Bush Clinton-Bush deregulation policy. If police agencies see some criminal conduct above and beyond drug use/abuse, fine.

13. You bring up a good point... |
|
If Rush is going to be the party "leader'" he can no longer cloak himself with the "entertainer" label. His talking points/ideology are fair game for everyone - including the President and members of Congress.
I do think one has to tread carefully to avoid the appearance of a witch hunt, as far as sicking federal agencies on him goes.
I would love more than anyone to see him frogmarched off to prison, but I don't want him to be some kind of conservative martyr.

Sort of scary, the "it's not illegal if we do it" contingent here.

|
Like Malloy says, the Pig Man, Palin, and Joe the Plumber are now the leaders of the Republican Party. That can't possibly be a bad thing for us.

|
It has been years (well one appearance on CNN) since I've known where Malloy is! I used to love him and then the conservatives were basically shutting him down because stations in the south were afraid to have him on. Could you give me any info on how I could listen to Mally on the computer??? Thanks

19. Mike Malloy went national with the foundings of Air America Radio, |
|
then Nova M, and, as of a day or two ago, with something called the On Second Thought Radio Network. He has a devoted and very friendly fan base here at DU and you can always find a thread going in the General Discussion Forum when he's broadcasting between 6 and 9 PM eastern M-F. |
I don't know the status of the new national source yet. There are always stream links in the Malloy threads as linked above.

And I'd be scared to death of a president that used the Justice Dept, FBI, DEA, etc to forced someone that's from the other side of the aisle to shut up.

17. Limbaugh has more money than God so he really didn't have to steal or cheat to buy his oxy... |
|
he's the exception to the rule.
Obama does better to let this guy get caught on his own and not to look like RL is on BHO's "enemy's list". If Obama is the nice guy and Rush Limbaugh keeps being..well... a Rush Limbaugh, then it can only help Obama.
Sooner or later Limbaugh will get caught by the FDLE or whatever the equivalent is in NY and Obama's fingerprints won't have to be on it.
