alas, racism alive and well in red, red el paso county
(mods, if this is out of line, my apologies, and feel free to remove)

last week, at peterson afb, a couple of jerks complained about president obama's picture on a banner for presidents' day, so the banner was removed (funny, none of them complained when der chimpenfuhrer's pic was included). this is what one of them said (and I want to know HOW we can get this bastard out of the military--because I sure as HELL don't want to be paying HIS salary) I have placed a call (now that I have my voice back) to the commissary mgr to express my EXTREME displeasure with what is being done with OUR tax dollars)

. . . . . .

One can hope those who complained were simply bored, or harbored intense political opposition to Obama. Unfortunately, it's a fact that Obama's race was at the heart of some objections. A cashier said one military retiree made no secret about it, in expressing his concern.

But don't take the cashier's word for it. The Gazette received an e-mail from a man who identified himself as a Marine Corps veteran. It said (profanity redacted by Gazette): "first of all he's not qualified to be president,,alien,,,kenya you get the picture second of all: he's a useless pile of c-p... elected by the scum of our society."

Asked by e-mail if he cared to elaborate, the man wrote: "I don't think any further amplification is necessary,,the useless ni-er is destroying the economy,,,a day at a time,,, and ignorant a-wipes like yourself are either in accord with him or you just don't give a good husky c-p... either way you're f---ed,,,the end is upon us,,,6 mths to a yr, and the end will be starring us in the face,,,actually, I mean you,,,I'm getting the f-k out,,,with lots of $$, so s-k d-k and suffer,,,just do it quietly,,have some pride,,,if nothing else..."

. . . . .

1. Like I keep saying, there are fewer and fewer of those people all the time
in EPC. When I was a kid the whole place was wall-to-wall Dobsonites. These days there are lots of signs that the right-wing grip on the Springs is slowly eroding. When I was there over the summer and for winter break the number of public displays of support for Obama were way, way higher than I would have expected and definitely way above and beyond what Kerry got just four years earlier.

Do a Google search for <michelle malkin moved to colorado springs>

The third link down will be her site. No need to open it - the Google blurb contains her statement about moving to the Springs.

4. My Dad served in the army in El Paso. He was from CT and it was culture shock for him to
say the least. I think it was Fort Bliss where he was at. Of course that was in the 1960's but somehow I don't think much has changed there.
