Thankfully, the MSM is showing Gibbs' response to Santelli's "rant" on CNBC
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 03:18 PM by jenmito
They're saying on MSNBC that it's shocking how strongly Robert Gibbs came out swinging against Santelli. For anyone who didn't see it, he said he's SURE Santelli didn't read the plan, and that he suggests Santelli go to the WH website, go to the plan, print it out, and READ it. He called it a "rant." He even invited Santelli to sit down with him and talk about it, saying he'd buy him coffee-DECAF. The press corp laughed pretty hard at that line. Here's a link to it: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/19083.html

3. My roommate is watching television upstairs. I don't know if
it's still on MSNBC or if she switched to CNBC, but I can hear that asshole right now responding. He's practically SCREAMING!!! Sounds more like he should join some of those financial "pundits" on Faux.

What a total mofo asshole.:puke::argh: I hope his 15 minutes of fame is almost up.

5. Yes-they just interviewed him on MSNBC. He was being obnoxious...
and called Contessa Brewer "rude."

6. That guy is delusional. Twisted everything out of context, refused to answer their questions,
and clearly doesn't have a real solution he can offer up, but yet continues to rail against a legitimate plan proposed by Obama. The guy is a total douche and when the MSNBC anchors all but admit the same, his rants carry no weight or relevance. FAIL!

7. Yup. He was repeatedly asked what HIS solution would be...
and he couldn't answer. But when Contessa asked him how the guy next to him feels about being pulled in front of the camera several times by Santelli, he told the guy that Contessa was being rude. :eyes:

11. He screams everyday just to be heard over the noise on the floor of the CBOT.
Wonder if his scream is more shrill today. Sounds like Gibbs spanked him. Hard.

9. oh fuck me - now David "the Tool" Gregory is on, saying there are "real questions" about the plan
Saying people will be rewarding for "bad behavior" - you know, unlike all the fucking hedge fund mgrs like Santelli!

Gregory is such a dick.

12. Fuck david wilkinson gregory! He's one big conflict of interest and has no
business being on the air commenting on the plan. His wife used to be an executive with Fannie Mae and now she works for the DC branch of a law firm specializing in white collar criminal defense. david gregory makes me :puke:

19. Aside from that- the guy's simple minded
I've never once heard an insight or original thought come out of the man's mouth.

27. That's my main problem with him, as well
The man does not come across as intelligent at all. He just rolls with the meme du jour (and always follows the RW memes) and hopes no one notices that his show lacks any originality whatsoever.

I am now convinced that when he went against Bush a couple times in press conferences, it was simply for publicity, not from a sincere pursuit of the truth. And it worked.

17. Yep. Claimed that "of course" he saw the housing crash coming, that he didn't read "enough" of the
plan to know which specific parts he is railing against, and that his argument is "only philosophical." The guy is a joke. The more MSNBC gives him air time, the less and less relevant he becomes.

21. You will get your wish, Jen!! He's going on Hardball this afternoon.
I think it would be better if Tweety knew more about economics and this housing crisis though because then he could properly grill the douche. It should be entertaining though.

Tweety of course didn't ask him - who the hell is going to pay for schools and roads.
