Montana Gov. Schweitzer Zings Sarah Palin For Being No Show
ABC News' Teddy Davis reports:

Montana Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer ribbed Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin Friday for announcing at
the last minute that she will not be attending a Sunday discussion of energy policy that the two governors were
scheduled to lead at this weekend's meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) in Washington.

"I don't know where she's going to be. You'll be stuck with me," Schweitzer told ABC News. "There will be no
glamour, certainly no snappy dressing. I brought my best two pairs of jeans. There's a little bit of a horse shit
stain by the knee. But I've been washing that stuff out."

Her office announced Thursday that her travel to western Alaska coupled with her work on budget amendments and
"economic stimulus certification requirements" would prevent her from attending this weekend's NGA meeting, which
includes not only the energy policy discussion but also a Sunday black tie dinner at the White House and a Monday
governors-only meeting with President Barack Obama.

"I don’t have any party buying me clothes," said Schweitzer, referring to the more than $150,000 that the
Republican Party shelled out for the Palin family's wardrobe last year. "My wife buys my clothes at Costco."

2. he rocks--that's hilarious
I hope he gets the horse shit out before he wears his best jeans to meet the President.

And Sarah, Sarah, Sarah... when I was in high school and wanted to get out of PE, I pretended to be sick. I guess "economic stimulus certification requirements" is the new "my stomach hurts."

7. Butte's getting better
Governor Schweitzer is big on the restoration economy, so he's helping clean things up and restoring them as best as possible all over the state.

That being said, for a good old fashioned Dem, you'd probably like Missoula the best. Montana has some good places to live though, good cost of living too.

But mainly Butte is getting nicer that I know of, and Missoula all around is about the best place to live in. Nice area, weather isn't as harsh.

17. Hey, Butte is the FUN town! I love Helena. Missoula has great people
Bozeman is the gateway to some awesome places. Great Falls has the river and is where the plains and mountains meet, sorta, so it is interesting.

Now Billings.... That just sucks rocks.

Butte is the REAL 'town too tough to die'.

4. Having had a horse shit stain on my best jeans too
I can relate to the governor. Although I was more apt to have cow shit stains more than anything. Or even bull shit.

And I have to say, I bet Palin would have added significant genius to that effing discussion. Good lord, that would have been a slaughter if she actually had to start answering anything at all.

5. Sarah's travel to western Alaska
with Franklin Graham and Anchorage's Jerry Prevo (a Falwell clone) was just to pump up her cred with the fundie crowd. If she's going for transparency, we see right through her.

I've got some stories posted in the Alaska forum about this trip to western Alaska. Pfftt..

8. wow, if she still feels the need to pump up her cred with those folks
at this stage in the game, they must be even more far out there than I thought. Was the witch hunting pastor and the belief that humans and dinosaurs walked the earth together not enough?

True that she wants adoration and probably perceives herself that way or her goofy followers do. :)

9. It's funny how the Republicans hit Obama for being a "celebrity" but now look at Palin.
Someone needs to tell Sarah Palin she isn't Lindsey Lohan. Nor is she Presidential material.

10. well look at McCain too
That guy is virtually all celebrity. He's had several bios ghostwritten, gone on all the late night shows to promote them. He pops up in Vietnam docs all the time. Did cameos in The Wedding Crashers and on 24, hosted Saturday Night Live. He's on the Sunday talk shows every chance he can get, plus he hangs out with elite journalists. He even met up with Anne Hathaway and her felon ex-bf a few years ago. I always thought it was hilarious of McCain to accuse somebody of being a celebrity with no substance. And then he topped it off by picking Palin and making Joe The Plumber famous, lol. Republicans are a curious lot.

24. I wasn't aware of all that stufff that McCain has done.
Imagine if the Republican ticket had won. Just what we need is a celebrity president and a no-show vice president.

16. K & R
On my way out to shovel and haul several loads of horseshit, myself. While I don't wear the same stuff to work that I wear to do barn chores, I often show up to my classroom in the morning with stray bits of hay clinging here and there from the morning feeding.

Smartest guy in just about any room.

In a room with Obama, Schweitzer is probably the second smartest guy there, and it may seem refreshing to him!
