I seem to remind an annual degradation of the percent of "death tax" that would be paid or the amount of the estate eventually becoming "zero" and no taxes on any estate in any amount would be paid. I seem to remember it was 2010 and then on January 1, 2011, the tax would reappear.

So if the "death tax" weren't kept at "zero", wouldn't that put fear in the hearts of wealthy taxpayers as there would be an awful lot of unexplained deaths prior to January 1, 2011. I wouldn't put anything past their cut-from-the-cloth greedy children to get as much out of their parents as legally possible, and this sounds like a (bad) movie plot.
