I thought Bobby Jindal was supposed to be so impressive??
Edited on Sun Feb-22-09 02:23 PM by Thrill
Is this guy suppose to be their rising star?
I've heard a couple Freepers in the past call him the GOP's Obama?

Just watched Meet the Press. Wow just wow. This guy is weak. No charisma at all. He's like a Robot that just keeps talking and contradicting himself.

Obama has only been President a month, and after seeing this cast of characters, I'm feeling good about his re-election :)

2. that's just the media speaking trying to build him into a star but as you say
the guy is a snooze machine. He should be bottled and given to people suffering from insomnia.

23. Hello, Rashel, and welcome to DU.
It's a great place, really. The boards and topics are always lively and interesting, owing in large part to the vast range of psychedelic compounds we're all on.

Welcome aboard.

4. It's pretty sad for the GOP isn't it?
They didn't have anything in 2008 and they won't have anyone in 2012 either. It's interesting to see the jockeying for position going on with the GOP governors. It will all back fire on them.

5. I think he was 'restrained' during that appearance. He didn't want to make any errors.
And I suspect he'll be on the GOP ticket in four years, too. Or at least he'll be approached about it. He's not going to Iowa for his health. And he pulled out the same non-denial denial that Clinton and Obama used, the old "no plans" routine.

He's going to have to step it up ten notches to even be competitive--or the economy will have to crash and burn, and Democrats be perceived as uncaring.

14. He'll run but he'll never make it on the ticket.
Not while the GOP is STILL relying on Sen. Shelby type "we didn't see his birth certificate" shit to stir up their masses.

The inherent racism of the GOP machine will do Jindal in through lack of enthusiasm as well as the guy's own limitations.

He's a smart guy, and has a Southern governor's seat but that's only part of what is required.

he's a hell of a lot smarter than Bush.

But he's also nuts. There's no way we want him anywhere near the presidency.

appointed front runner until he loses all the primaries.

12. I only saw the first half of his Meet the Press interview.....
... and he single-handedly whiped away any worry I had left of Palin being the 2012 GOP nominee. He's got all her cool freshness, with not as much of the air-headededness.

I suspect he MAY have read US News and World Report ... or at least Sports Illustrated.

Edited on Sun Feb-22-09 06:05 PM by AtomicKitten
I have no doubt his ridiculous stand on the stim package will come flying back in his face in due time. He is essentially coming out against the largest tax cut in history. That's a campaign ad he'll regret providing.

How long till we hear that as the new meme. They are still trying it with Palin. Claim that Democrats are afraid of them when in fact we are laughing our collective asses off.

Any bishop who sees fit to order that pro-choice Democrats be denied communion should say the same thing about Jindal.

Thus, I don't think he will be the GOP nominee in 2012. Maybe, a VP spot.

He has zero charisma and is just there as far as I'm concerned. The GOP and press are trying to raise his profile but he is very blah and boring.
