The term "illegal enemy combatant" is a status offense. I see some confusion |

here about it. You become an "illegal enemy combatant" by the President deciding you are one. You don't have to have done anything wrong. No proof is needed of having committed any crime. You are denied rights by declaration of the president of the United States.
