REALLY? If he's the best they got, I say, "bring it on!" I don't see him being any of those things except "young."

It's Piyush Jindal.

From Wiki
According to family lore, Jindal chose to re-name himself "Bobby" inspired by the sitcom character Bobby Brady after watching The Brady Bunch television series at age four. He has been known by his adopted nickname ever since—as a civil servant, politician, student, and writer—though legally his name remains Piyush Jindal.<4>

Is that reason not to like the guy? Would we not rather have a smart President then a charasmatic/good looking President. Not saying we can't have both, but ugly dull President can be good too, heck I am an aspie who wants to get into politics, so thats basically my only hope! lol

44. The point of my OP is that the "liberal media" is painting Jindal as something
he is NOT according to most people I've spoken to/posted with. Why is the media pushing him as something he's not? Why can't they just call him a smart politician (if he is) instead of hyping him up to be so much more?

by simply declaring it to be so.

Dubya was similarly lionized. Just printing it and saying it over and over didn't make it true.

8. They just selected Steele........
..... I think they're all about tokenism at the moment. They all think, on a subconscious level, that we all voted for Barack because he's black. So they go out like Bear Bryant and get them "one" too.

And heck, if you're an average conservative White American, what's the difference between an Indian American or an African American anyway? (except of course for the fact that one of them was present at the first Thanksgiving and all ha ha.)

These people raised that Palin woman to near-Reagan plateaus of admiration. I wouldn't put anything past them.

16. Hey, if the GOPs say he has chrisma, then he has it!
After all, they are still saying Palin's not stupid....

I believe you are right - the GOPs believe deeply that Obama was the Democratic candidate because he is black, and was guaranteed a certain number of "ethnic" votes.

They are extremely cynical, shallow, evil stupid people, and that is just the "best" of them.

I could see a Palin/Jindalticket in '12, losing by even more than 9 mil votes.

I noticed it during Campaign2000 when Cokie Roberts "reported" on the Bush Charm Offensive. "Charm offensive?" I thought to myself. Yeah, "Charm Offensive." She came on one morning on "Morning Edition" to tell us about how "charming, oh so charming" Bush was. And that he liked to give out nicknames.

Cokie claimed he would use this "charm" to get things done in DC...:puke:

49. Flavor of the Month
Jindal is the new face. We went through this with Sarah Palin six months ago. After a while, the glow will start to fade.

Right now, his background makes him interesting. He's a south Asian in an overwhelmingly white party, and a nerdy policy wonk in a state that usually prefers scoundrels, rogues, and batshit freaks of nature. Remember, in the 1991 and 1995 Louisiana gubernatorial runoffs, all four finalists (Edwards, Duke, Foster, Fields)have either gone to jail or been the subject of corruption probes.

Eventually, though, Jindal's weaknesses will catch up with him. he's as charismatic as a head cold, and his brand of Catholicism is of a somewhat flaky variety. Also, Louisiana being Louisiana, there is inevitably going to be someone in his administration with a bundle of cash baked into a king cake or something...

about him. Barack, at ten years older, relates to younger people and older people at the same time. He seems youthful without trying to hard. Bobby needs to learn some lessons from the master.
