I know its not technically a State of the Union, but do we get the way cool intro, just like a State of the Union? If so, thats great, because I would actually get to give my own personal standing ovation just like the schlubs in Congress.

1. I'll bet there will be neither hugs from McCain

2. I cant imagine him just kinda quietly walking in unnoticed...
.... so yes, I would imagine that ANY time the President were to walk into a joint session that it would require someone shouting it out.

I plan to wear my workout clothes so I can better perform in the great exercise that is the "standing ovation every three minutes" tradition. :)

It's gonna be superfun! The only way he could top it would be to ride in on a white horse or something lol.

The Marine Band will strike up James Brown's "I Feel Good".

Am I a bad person for wanting this?

6. Eyup!
Sergeant-at-Arms: "Mr. Speaker. The President of the United States!"

Speaker Pelosi: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have the high honor and distinct personal privilege to present the President of the United States."

I can't wait to see it!

11. Yes, we do
"Madam Speaker, The President of the United States."

The State of the Union is a tradition. The Constitution actually says that the President shall address the Congress from "time to time" to share information. This is the State of the Union for an inauguration year.
