I'm not a reflexive Obama fan, |
|
but his speech was frigging nigh perfect.

1. It was a thing of beauty, |
|
and I'm not a reflexive Obama fan either.

8. I was impressed that he was able to eviscerate the repukes so subtly |
|
but so effectively, without losing the two important threads: the sales job on the need for his recovery plan, and the pep talk the country needs at this dark hour.
Emphasizing energy, health care and education is dead on right. All will help create jobs.

6. I was supposed to be teaching tonight, but the class was canceled, |
|
so I listened to the speech on the radio driving home.
It would have been interesting to see the crowd shots, but the standalone rhetorical effect was pretty damned impressive.
He said the positive, hopeful, inspirational things the country needs, but he also deftly slid the knife right between the repukes' third and fourth ribs and gave it more than a few purposeful twists.

7. Yes, he did it very smoothly, giving it right to them. |

By the way, do you teach college? I am actually going back to school to be a preschool teacher. As Obama said, the first few years lays the foundation for what is to come. I think teachers do some of the toughest and most important jobs.

12. Good for you! I worked with troubled kids for a long time, 6 to 12 year old boys. |
|
Tough job but worth it when you saw them improving.

 He always exceeds expectations. Just when you think he're run out and over-exposed, he keeps doig it anyway.
