We are not QUITTERS!!!!
I loved that story, especially when I saw the young lady being hugged by Michelle.

That visual choked me up, because as a black teen I didn't have someone like Michelle to look up to when I was an 8th grader. Having a Michelle or a Barack was so outside of my realm of reality back then.

Even if you are poor, black and can't afford a stamp, don't QUIT, don't ever QUIT!!!!

1. I got tears im my eyes at that point. That young girl provided a lot of inspiration
to people tonight. I say that as a 33 year white woman. No kid in America of all places should have to go to school in a place that is crumbling around you, its a disgrace. And yet she did not give up but instead acted with determination.

2. SC and America should be ashame
No child should have to go to school in that kind of environment. She is a strong young lady to take the initiative to send that letter.

6. She's from the "corridor of shame" schools
That Obama spoke about during the campaign. They're in law suits trying to get equal education funding in SC. The school's computers are second hand, from the men's prison.

11. This is the FREAKING 21st Century
No public school should be in that condition. I might be wrong, but I am sure the drop out rate is through the roof.

I'm sure it is hard to take pride in yourself when the government subject you to conditions like you are a dog.

After 8 years of ignorance and failure. President Obama is so spot on! He was excellent tonight and First Lady Obama looked great as always. :)

Though the road isn't going to be easy, it's great that the REAL adults are in charge. :patriot:
