Why did Jindal "waddle" out to the mike wearing a really cheap looking suit? |
|
That looked very goofy and not at all confident.
If he walks that way normally he might want to be sure to be already seated at a desk before giving his next televised address.
That goes in the politicians hall of TV "fame" along with the Rod Smith (Gubernatorial candidate in FL) Helicopter ride, Michael Dukakis in the tank, Howard Dean's "haaa!" moment and Dan Quayle mis-spelling potatoe (sic).
Rules for Politicians on TV:
1) Don't look goofy on TV - it's the kiss of death for your political career. 2) When in doubt consult rule #1.

1. I had a flashback to Dukakis... |
|
...a guy who is probably smart but always seemed really awkward and uncomfortable.

3. WTF were they thinking?! I'm watchin him now...he's just as creepy as McKKKlan, no cadence, talking |
|
...points that are at the LEAST amateurish and talking too much with his hands.
He would've got an c- in speech class for this one.

5. In an odd congruence I was watching a repeat of The Office |
|
interlaced with Jindal. Michael was also wearing a cheap badly fitting suit, one he had picked up out of a bargain bin and failed to notice the label (Miss Terious,) or the lack of pants pockets, or the fact that the buttons were on the wrong side, or the shoulder pads, or the extra room in the front of the jacket... and then there was 'Bobby' Jindal.
So the Republicans have gone with grotesque comedy in Jindal and Steele as their ethnic outreach remedial program in reaction to their political waterloo of 08. Interesting. A slow motion train wreck. Fascinating.

8. They seem to be throwing minority politicians out at our feet |
|
and saying "here, this is what you want, isn't it"? But its all so cynical and Steele and Jindal have none of Obama's natural unforced charm.

6. He could have used Sarah Palin's fashion consultants. |
|
They could have dressed the guy up quite nicely for a couple hundred bucks.

14. Not only that - Did anyone else get the feeling |
|
that they were 4 years old being read Goldilocks and the Three Bears? That's what his tone and speaking style reminded me of. That about got on my last nerve.
