Viewer Approval During Obama's Speech (!) |
|
Not to intrude into all the Bobby Jindal threads (g), but was anyone else struck by the overwhelmingly positive viewer response during Obama's speech?
For anyone who didn't see it, MSNBC showing a running monitor of audience approval like they used in the debates, based on an audience sample using handheld devices.
Through most of the speech, the approval lines were glued to the top. What was even more amazing was the split between McCain and Obama voters -- most of the time the two lines were almost identical and a half dozen times the McCain line was actually higher!
I have to admit I was skeptical of Obama's approach of bipartisanship, compromise, and adopting Republican language on some issues. But whatever he has done is working. This speech really cemented his popularity and gave him tremendous freedom to work on difficult issues like health care.

1. It didn't seem calibrated correctly... |
|
but I enjoyed watching the lines hover so high. It seemed like even when nobody was saying anything that it was well above neutral.

5. I Am Assuming It's the Same Method They Used in the Debates |
|
They should have the process under control by now. I interpreted it to mean viewers were sitting on the + button.
