Poll question: Now that Jindal is toast, who is the next rising GOP star?
And who do you think would be easiest to beat?

1. Mittens still seems to be the best they have.
And the fundies won't vote for a Mormon.

14. Agreed. I find it deliciously ironic
that the dumbfuck morons they've relied on for so long were the principal reason that their strongest candidate couldn't get off the ground.

24. They have a perfectly good Romeny they aren't using
Cracks me up, because he is the only one people will take seriously consistently.

inb4 someone links the youtube of "who let the dogs out."

Still, he is their best and he keeps getting looked over for a bunch of fucktards.

26. Oh, that Mittens
I kept thinking someone was trying to nominate their cat. Probably wouldn't meet the age requirement, but otherwise about as good a choice as the others.

What's Barney the dog up to these days? He at least has White House experience :-)

5. I went with Cantor...BUT...
Obama would eat him alive. Cantor is one of these hypocritical Rethugs in Congress who criticizes the hell out of Obama behind his back and then asks for his autograph when Obama pays a visit to Congress. Cantor is a whiney little turd that will collapse under the pressure just like Jindal and Palin, but because he's young, they will jump on his bandwagon.

Romney is the one they actually need though. But, in typical GOP fashion, he has to overcome severe bigotry against his religion. Pretty ironic that the guy who would be able to stand up to Obama in a debate can't even get past his own party's primary because of their idiotic bigotry.

11. Romney is not well liked by Republicans
Not sure why, but McCain disliked him too much to consider him for a running mate.

15. Well Romney comes across as a phoney...
but the thing is, he could hold his own with Obama in a debate, especially on economics. They're too stupid to look past their bigotry and his phoniness to realize that he's the best they've got outside of maybe Gingrich...but Gingrich is going to be 69 in 2012 so his time has probably passed him already.

If the governor says he believes in gay rights, I bet Huntsman Chemical gave money on Prop 8 and that's what they're trying to bury by keeping the contributors secret. This guy is the one to watch.

38. Not happening. He's busy napalming his bridges to the extreme right, i.e. 95% of the Repukes
Huntsman is definitely doing some interesting shifting towards the center right now, but I doubt that it could help him in the Republican primaries.

to morph more convincingly into the extreme nutjob they want. His problem in 2008 was that he was too close to his "liberal" past.

29. True, but he's not the first one nor last one give a lackluster response
to a State of the Union (though this wasn't exactly one), they recover and 2012 is far way. Jindal is not going anywhere, neither is Palin. We'll see these two for years to come.

28. Couldnt agree more
Despite his performance last night one that was likely forced on him by the GOP. The man is very bright. He had the buzz arround him for a reason. His performance last night certainly wont help him but he will continue to be a force in the republican party if they are smart.

He has plenty of time to perfect his skills. Though I must admit that I was surprised by his poor delivery. Many on the right have spoken so highly of this guy that I expected more from him.

31. He has been much better when i have seen him speak in the past.
I was surprised as well by his performance last night. Maybe its just that the GOP is in such disarray at the moment with no clear message to deliver other than tax cuts. I don't know but dismissing this guy as done is foolish.

Hell most of the time the public cant remember what they were screaming about last week. Most don't even know who jindal is yet nor will they remember him as the guy who delivered that disaster last night.

Although watching the reaction lines on MSNBC last night, it looked like the McCain voters rated him positively. Republican voters are a strange bunch.

25. It will depend on the success of the President.
If Pres. Obama is highly popular at that time, only the idiots will run against him. No one who really is serious about a run will risk being destroyed as it would probably ruin any future career goals.

communication. However, his message/politics, suck. Smaller gov't in a time of crisis?? Don't depend on gov't cause gov't depends on you, the citizen?? Like the people did post Katrina?? No unemployment benefits for his constituents?? Pretty much a 'do it your fuckin self,' attitude. Yeah, he's got PLENTY of time.

governor of Minnesota. He was on Fox News Sunday last week lying his ass off like a good Republican. He's also one of the few who will go on Rachel Maddow's show. If the national party doesn't see Timmy as a star, he certainly sees himself as one.
