What other weather events are we wasting money on monitoring...
I say Tornados. I mean hell they aren't massive like Hurricanes. Why are we spending money on tracking these things. Half the time they show up 2 minutes before they're gonna hit so it's a lost cause anyways. Think of all the money we'd save if we just stop monitoring Tornados.

6. That was Santorum's mission in life was to close the NOAA
He and the Accuweather people were like best friends. THey'd pay him money and Rick Santorum would find other ways to cut funding to the NOAA

5. Tsunamis. Nothing to be done--why bother with an early warning system? Act of God...
Mustn't impede an Act of God.

7. There should be no monitoring of ice storms and blizzards either.
And earthquakes. No monitoring of areas prone to massive earthquakes either.

11. I think all wind related events could go.
I love being out on the ocean and having a gale or hurricane just sneak up and take me by surprise. Being prepared for them or trying to get out of the way? What's the fun in that?

I swear I laughed out loud when I heard him say that last night. What a stupid, stupid thing to say.

We know what a waste of money that is. And why bother with flood control engineering since they're caused by rain and hurricanes and we've already dispatched those to the pumpkin field. Ya know our parents and ancestors didn't have all these new fangled studies and they did just fine. What was good for them is certainly good for us! Stop being such wimps!

14. Eliminate the FAA. Use a faith-based air control system.
Look how big the sky is, I mean, how many planes collide in any given year? And they can just take their turns landing and taking off, just use common courtesy.

If people die accidentally, well, then, it was God's will and their time to go. Who are we to question the Almighty?

We could save billions.

16. Yes this is all sarcasm based on Jindal's statement that Volcano monitoring is a waste
And it use to be only 5-10 minutes for Tornadoes but thanks to science we do have more time available to warn people
