Slow learners: GOP realizing Michael Steele is a moron

Michael Steele In The Middle Of The Circular Firing Squad

by Barbara Morrill aka BarbinMD
Thu Feb 26, 2009 at 08:30:04 AM PST

Remember this?

<...>

Now Steele is catching flack for those remarks:

After being confronted about the remarks, which Steele made during an Fox News interview on Tuesday, the new RNC chairman agreed to meet with the moderate Senators to discuss the matter, Snowe said Wednesday.

Snowe went on to say that the mind-set that moderates have no place within Republican Party has led to its shrinking presence in not only her home region of the Northeast but also its broader loss of power.

And while Steele moves to appease moderate Republicans, he:

... faced hard questions from conservative Members during the GOP meeting about his support for the D.C. voting rights bill now before the Senate. <...>

“You just cannot haphazardly call for primary challenges for your moderate wing one day and follow it with selling your base down the river the next. Somebody needs to tell him to relax, settle into the job and realize that nobody cares what the RNC chairman thinks about anything other than winning elections,” one veteran GOP aide said.

Good times.

We got rid of Steele in Maryland and now he's the GOP's problem, and they are welcome to him. Good times indeed.

8. well, I think all the capable Republicans are in private sector...
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 01:04 PM by gmoney
...if you have those sorts of greedhead attitudes and beliefs, and the intelligence to actually make things happen, you would not go into public service where you'll earn far less than you would in private sector. Indeed, you'd start a company that can exploit the public sector and privatize the profits.

So, that leaves all the morons who believe the republican "greed is good" party line, but aren't actually smart enough to start a profitable company on their own. So they fall back on a secure government job, hoping to become wealthy by association and by enabling friends and cronies to make billions, and maybe get kickbacks or a cushy board of directors seat or lobbyist gig. See George "Arbusto" Bush for a primo example.

14. Oh, come on--give the GOP a break--they're doing their best with the few tokens they have!
I mean, really! Amongst all those old white men, they're scrambling. Obviously, the only other African Americans they could put up are Alan Keyes or Ken Blackwell. Michael Steele is the best they got.

As for the other non-old-white-male-Repigs: There's Mr Rogers Jindal and the aerial wolf killing Caribou Barbie from Alaska. We're liberals, show some sympathy!

(oh, the shadenfreude! I love watching them implode!!)

19. Maybe I am wrong for this, but I'm enjoying Steele turning the GOP out
His ability to just say the most impolitic thing is not only amusing but also puts a spotlight on how Orwellian the GOP's language usually is. When he says what he really thinks, the multitudes are offended. When he says what they want him to say (that whole Slumdog thing is b.s.), the multitude is offended.

He can't win for losing. The George Stephenapolous quote: A job is not work... was sheer lunacy. Bringing hip hop to the GOP was asinine. Listening to the Guardian Angel founder try to force Slumdog into his mouth was horrible. Why would any self respecting minority allow a reporter, satirist, or shock jock to force them into a corner where you marginalize another minority group? When you show people it is okay to dehumanize/marginalize one group in front of you, it won't be long before they knock at your door.
