Time for our Million of Voices to support The Proposed Budget!
If you want Health Care reform, the ability to have the Rich pay their fair share for their good fortunes, and priority spending on what is required to get this country pointed in the right direction, RIGHT NOW is the time to DO SOMETHING like voicing your support for the President's proposed Budget. You may be "uncomfortable" about Iraq, Afghanistan, assault bans, and other issues, but that should not have any bearing on supporting this particular budget.

Please let your congresscritter know that you are in support of this budget, so that there is no confusion as to what your congresscritter should do when it is time for a vote.

5. thanks. keep people aware. WE NEED TO FILL THE VOID
we have to be better about taking ourselves away from other activities to make a difference and make ourselves heard. Otherwise they just hear the negativity.

I just sent one to Jeff Merkely and will send on to Wu and Wyden.

6. We have to act.....
because if things don't turn out as planned, we are the ones who will be on the losing end!

And after years of fighting for, and coming closer to some of our ultimate goals,
this support that we need to provide is some serious shit!

8. Now we are getting somewhere. I've noticed and commented...
..that this forum tends to be too FR-like in that there is a lot of bitching and moaning, name calling and snooty "I told you so" and not enough activism. The opposition is organized and vocal. We are satisfied to sit on the sideline while policies we support are bashed and leaders we support are maligned.

We Need to organize. Write letters to the editor (serious, clear support not snippy name calling). Contact legislatures, call talk shows, send letters, faxes and e-mails. We used to excel at this and now we are keyboard heavy and activism absent!

14. I am actually reading the budget now!

Someone posted a thread earlier questioning the "savings account" President Obama mentioned in his speech.

Answer pp37: It is on top of and clearly outside of social security (not instead of, or part of)
and employees will be automatically enrolled (employee can opt-out)in their work place pension plan. Employers who do not offer pensions will have to offer their employees a direct-deposit IRA account compatible with existing direct-deposit payroll systems.

15. I always enjoy writing my Rep as he's running for Governor....
And I love to remind him that we're watching what he does in Congress as we consider who our next Governor should be.

It's like legal extortion. :)

(of course there's no way I'll vote for the old wingnut)
