George W. Bush could face new torture charges (Canada)
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 10:42 PM by LynnTheDem
In a February 23 letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and four federal cabinet ministers, the group requested that Bush be denied entry into Canada in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Along with individuals, the act bars senior members of a government that has committed offences listed in the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act from entering the country. Torture is listed in the appendix to the act as a crime against humanity.

(By the way; the Georgia Straight linked above has nothing to do with "straight" as in sexual prefs.)

3. Best news I've heard all day.
Of course the Harper government won' touch it with a ten foot pole but at least the news is getting out there. Eventually the boy king will be essentially under house arrest because he won't be able to travel anywhere for fear of immediate arrest.

5. Isn't Two Shoes supposed to give a "speech"....
...in Calgary soon? If that's the case, hooray for Team Canada, which has closed off a revenue stream for the little, stupid motherfucker.

Pretty soon, he'll be restricted to holding bake sales in front of his new Dallas digs to generate some pocket change.

6. Another point..........
technically GW can't travel in and out of Canada because of his DUI. This was waived when he traveled as a president....however as a private citizen it's a different mater...regardless of how long it's been since he had the DUI......

10. He can get an "Approval of Rehabilitation", and then pass...
Or others who may want to visit but have had trouble with the law, like a DUI.

11. How many countries have moved against the former Bush administration officials like this?
It is the kind of pressure that would force the Obama administration to act before the world community acts.
