'Tampa Tea Party' Pours Scorn On Stimulus Package
TAMPA - There were no tomahawk-wielding Colonials dumping boxes of English tea into the Hillsborough River, and fortunately, nobody was tarred and feathered.

But the protesters who gathered today on the steps of the federal courthouse in downtown to protest President Obama's $787 billion economic stimulus bill came with a message similar to their brethren 236 years ago: Take your tea and shove it.

"We wanted to let the people in Washington know how angry we are about the stimulus bill," said John Hendricks, a Tampa-based consultant who organized the gathering.

...snip...

About two dozen protesters held handwritten signs with slogans like "Keep Your Bailout; I'll Keep My Freedom" and "Wake Up Washington." They chanted "No More Nelson" in response to Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson's support of the stimulus.

Today was the day for national "Tea Party" protests. DKOS has a nice story about the CPAC gang turning out their thousands of...er, hundreds of...okay, dozens of minions (and Joe the Plumber) to strike a blow for something or other. Any word on how the rest of nation fought off the chains of socialism?

11. i am assuming they all had homes to have their tea parties in. they weren't
worried about foreclosure or anything or else they would not be having a 'tea party'.
