John McCain just claimed the compromised "withdrawal" as his own.
He said Obama shouldn't stray from the military generals' inclinations to keep troops on the ground -- that he should not pursue accelerated "withdrawal" strategies beyond today's outline as dictated by the U.S. military.

John McCain just pitted the U.S. military against the elected president of the United States of America.

John McCain does not believe in civilian rule.

John McCain is a traitor to this country.

John McCain is a filthy Nazi.

4. The defeated is still a Senator.
No matter how many people think he is dead wrong and out of touch, the dude still has a right to his dead wrong and out of touch opinion

3. John McCain hates America!
O-B-K-B.

Disagreeing with the President doesn't make you less of an American, whether you are a Democrat or a Republican.

I didn't work to get Obama elected so that we could change places with the Republicans and be as loony tunes as they were for 8 years.

8. I agree, it is really unpleasant
I know in some cases it has been in jest - but it is old as a joke and wrong as a principle.

7. McCain's comments in total are to save his own face
1) This could only happen with the surge.
2) He is ok with this because the military is - and again - it was the surge he supported that makes it possible.

Everyone twists history to try to make their own stands look better. It might be better to just be happy that he is not opposing - what he has no control of anyway. I don't like the RW constantly calling Democrats - especially John Kerry, a true patriot and war hero, who they slander that way most often - traitors. Here, McCain is not a traitor, he is just stating an opinion on something that he has zero control over.
