COMBAT troops out by Aug. 2010...ALL TROOPS out by the end of 2011
I fail to see the problem with this. Am I missing something???

In terms of the potential for lives being lost between Aug 2010 and the end of 2011, I can understand their frustration.

5. I don't think anyone ever said ALL troops out by end of '11
I have heard most of the remaining 35,000 to 50,000 will be gone by then. I don't think anyone has claimed ALL we be out by then.

7. You are right. This is the first I saw that.
Obama said 35,000 to 50,000 troops would stay to train and equip the Iraqi forces, protect civilian reconstruction projects and conduct limited counterterrorism operations.

He stressed he intended to remove all U.S. troops by the end of 2011, in line with a deal signed with Iraq last year, and in a direct address to the Iraqi people said the United States "pursues no claim on your territory or your resources."

8. The Iraqi government said so, as did Obama today.
Of course, this excludes the troops protecting the embassy, as in every country in the World.
