Sen. Chuck Grassley (R), Smacks Shuster's 'Obama losing political capital' meme
Chuck Grassley is making a name for himself. First, he suggests that AIG execs should commit suicide. Just now w/Shuster, he just barely walked that back, but basically refused to apologize. Next, Shuster asks how much political capital Obama has lost. Grassley say not only that Obama hasn't lost any political capital, but that he has gotten stronger as a result! Shuster was basically left with his mouth hanging.

Nice job Grassley!

1. Especially sweet words coming from a Repub. I'm thinking perhaps
a lot of repugs are doing a "re-think" on their party's future. Specter, Megan McCain, Grassley...perhaps we can convert them.....LOL.

2. Yep - Iowa.
A state Obama won handily. Looks like Grassley knows which side his bread's buttered on...

6. Grassley is one of the few conservative Republicans left in a state Obama won handidly
The other being Judd Gregg in New Hampshire. Grassley I'm sure is hoping to fend off a serious challenge by kissing up to Obama.

5. What was Grassley's reasoning re Obama - was it because now there is an even greater demand
for re-regulation?

8. Grassley's campaign against the churches/503(c)s that engage in electioneering
Was especially refreshing. Especially from a Republican.

10. Awww... let's adopt him!
I'm liking Grassley lately... for trying to repeal the H-1Bs, and now this. :)

Come on, Chuck, be a Dem. (You know you want to!)

11. And then there's this tidbit from Grassley (for those who missed it)...
"From my standpoint, it's irresponsible for corporations to give bonuses at this time when they're sucking the tit of the taxpayer."
