Loved the "McCain 1908" t-shirt.

Miserable, unhappy looking folks.

Can anyone explain the pink flip flops/yes we can image?

18. Caption: "Send Your Pink Flip Flops to Obama - Demand He Stand Up for Gay Rights!"
I don't know if it's just that Flickr user's idea or whether there's actually a gay rights group organising a protest where they send the President pink flip-flops - the link for that photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/feastoffools/3547565565/

10. I like the encouraging ones.
The snarky ones, especially those forced-birthers, were ick. These people just have to be so intrusive. That's all they think about. :eyes: And the "prove me wrong" remarks. Please. :eyes:

13. I actually like the "prove me wrong" ones ...

I mean, I never would have said that to or about Bush. Nowhere in my mind was even the glimmer of a thought that he could prove me wrong, so it never would have occurred to me to say such a thing.

There's a hint of potential acceptance in "prove me wrong," the implication that such a thing is actually possible and that the person expressing the thought thinks it might be possible. It comes across, to me, as the sort of thing the archetypal eternal skeptic might say to someone who has surprised him with what he's been able to accomplish.

Contrasted against the anti-choice pictures and the one of the individual who looks just ... sour and simply held up a piece of paper saying "I didn't vote for you," the "prove me wrong" ones are even a little bit heartening.

21. Dammit Jackeens, I was supposed to start house cleaning an
hour ago! ;-) This photos are intriguing. Did you see this one? It's the same woman who posted her "3000 dead babies" or whatever that you posted above.

Pretty sad...It's indicative of the lack of civility in the political media culture we have going on today.

But thanks for posting the Flickr link. I've been having a great time looking at these creative photos.

22. Hey janx, I intended starting my house cleaning in 1993....
....just never got around to it!

Yeah, I really enjoyed looking through those photos, even if some of them are creepily uncomfortable: would it be horrible to say that I found a lot of the Republicans to have, well, the meanest of faces? The kind of people I really, really wouldn't want to meet down a dark alley? Or maybe that's just my prejudice :-)

Any way, forget the cleaning - a week after it's done it'll have to be done again. So, what's another fortnight?!

24. I have dogs. There are dog hair tumbleweeds, mud tracked in by
the dogs, and dust everywhere from recent wind storms (I live in the high desert country of New Mexico). Luckily, my dive is small; cleaning really doesn't take too much time.

As for the Republican faces, they just look mean because they're not happy. I work with two Republicans whom I love very much, and I've always found their faces beautiful--with the sole exception of the day President Obama was inaugurated. One of them looked as if she had been crying. But she has taken it well since then, and I don't talk politics with her except in very general terms. I certainly don't dwell on it, and she doesn't either, though she's more vocal than I am. She has friends and family in some very volatile places right now. Should the economy turn around, she may think again about her politics.
