Lou Dobb's show tanks. CNN replacing his repeat show at 9pm.! lol
Ah, that's too bad. I guess people are getting tired of Lou's racist rants.

http://www.observer.com/2009/media/dobbs-ratings-dip-down

Drawing comparisons between the White House and the Kremlin or between Mr. Obama’s economic philosophy and that of Karl Marx is all the rage in conservative media circles these days. Elsewhere in the cable news landscape, various Fox News anchors, including Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, have been able to parlay such commie-socialist name-calling into skyrocketing ratings.

But at CNN—and also at HLN (né Headline News), where Lou Dobbs Tonight repeats each weeknight—the nightly slicing and dicing of the 44th president’s economic policies has done little to beef up Mr. Dobbs’ ratings. Instead, Mr. Dobbs’ audience seems to be in decay.

<SNIP>

In fact, on the night of Mr. Dobbs’ czar analysis, the 63-year-old anchor managed to pull off what must be rare feat in the history of cable news: He finished in fourth place in the demographic at two different time slots (7 p.m. and 9 p.m.) on two different networks (CNN and HLN) on the same night!

For CNN Headline News, a new face at 9 p.m.?

The new personality, likely to be announced this week, is described as someone who is from outside the cable news business, but is well-liked by many and disliked by some. This new hire may even give Larry King something to worry about, says our source. Hmm. Suggestions, please to this blog.

There ain't a single "he" in there. Maybe we'll get to hear from someone other than a guy for a change.

4. Makes sense. All of the xenophobes are watching the Manatee at 9 pm. Now, as for the replacement...
who could it be? Who could it be? I'm intrigued.

Joy Behar anyone?

They've been using her a lot to fill in for King. Maybe it was a test run? And notice how "the source" threw in the bit about Larry, maybe they were finding when she subbed their numbers went up a bit?

7. This is good news....
I can stand Dobbs, the sooner he and Campbell Brown are off CNN the better, it's just Fox News lite. Although I don't think they would stay gone, I'm sure fox would scoop them both up and they would both fit in very well over there.

9. I used to like the Lou Dobbs show.
I watched it every night while on the treadmill at the gym. But that was back when he was truly a Libertarian. As soon as Obama got elected, he turned into a nasty, grumpy, aggressive, miserable, rightwing blowhard. Everything is "anti Obama" on his show. He's proven to be as rightwing conservative as any talking head on Faux News. I sent several emails to CNN telling them that I had quit watching the show. So I'm not surprised his rating have tanked.

11. I used to watch Lou Dobbs during the 1990s myself. That's when he actually focused on businesses,

markets, and the such. It was called "Moneyline" then.

However, since 9/11, he's focused mostly on illegal immigrations, minorities, and right wing social issues, instead of business talk.

16. there is probably little place in the market these days for a "moderate xenophobe"
It's the kind of thing that requires an all or nothing attitude. Mr. Dobbs is certainly a bigot and a xenophobe by any rational standards. But when placed in competition against the batshit crazy FOX News crowd and other extremist elements hitting the media market, he practically sounds like a liberal.
