I personally feel Obama has been exceptional on the subject of U.S./Middle East relations. |
|
The different situations in the ME are tough and complex in my view and Obama has been handling them well.
What are your thoughts concerning this subject?

It's absurd to talk about any president being exceptional on the subject of relations with any country we are currently invading/occupying.

5. You have a valid point, but Obama has not invaded any country yet. |
|
From what I hear, Obama is winding down the occupation/war in Iraq and winding up in Afghanistan.
My buddy in Afghanistan says positive changes are being made, I can only hope he is right.

About snapped my neck doing a double take at the tv screen.
It certainly feels like his strong suit and that's good for us. So good.

Notice how they don't want their real rich self to be revealed.
That way, we'll think they are " fair and balanced."
Oops, forgot Mika B.

16. I applaud the way Obama has handled the crisis in Iran. |
|
It IS an Iranian crisis.
I generally applaud the repair in International Image his election and his intelligence/charisma has achieved. However, I feel this will quickly be undone if he continues the horrible WAR policies in Iraq and Afghanistan, and lets the War Criminals who are responsible go scott free. I absolutely OPPOSE the escalation of the WARS/Occupations, and the increase in funding for the same. We will never fix the problems in the Middle East with more bombs and bullets.
I applauded the firm stand he took with Israel last week, condemning the further expansion of Israeli "settlements". However, Israel gave Obama the finger today by announcing 300 MORE settlements. I am curious to see how Obama deals with this insult from Israel. Was his speech just more rhetoric and empty promises? Israel seems to think so.
Will Obama simply appease the Right Wing Hardliners in Israel? Or will he STAND UP, and maybe withhold some of the $3Billion in "aid" to Israel. This will be interesting. Churchill...or Chamberlain. Churchill....or Chamberlain. Which will it be?

Also, I never thought I'd hear a US president apologize for overthrowing Iran's democracy in 1953. He is right to back off and avoid the appearance of US meddling.

And I believe that in the long run, restoring America's moral stature in the world, is of the utmost importance (along with mending our broken economy). That's why I'm not as enraged as many here, that he's not expending all his "political capital" on certain other issues.
