Note to self.. before going on DU.. take two aspirin, and an ice pack to the back of the neck |
|
Oh Vey, what a place. No wonder the Donkey is our mascot. We just keep kicking each other in the teeth, or our elected officials.
Republicans on the other hand are trunk to tail and marching along. Oblivious to all around them but the big giant backside directly in front of them
I am just glad we do not have a coalition type of government. I don't think we could handle it.
Make that three aspirin.
Girding up and getting ready to wade back into the fray..
Carry on you magnificent sons and daughters of hell.. What a crew

17. The Peace Train has not yet arrived. |
|
We're still throwing away lives and dollars in our wars.
I'd like to try out some peace, just for a little while.

I hear you...and you are right..but we are pulling out of the cities of Iraq
I fear for all of them.. but with the Iranian movement against their government. I do not fear as much meddling from them at this point in time.. The rift between the Sunnis and Shias is broader than the rift between the west and middle east.. If there was ever a time to pull back, now is it, and we are doing it. I am a little surprised that as Democrats we are not acknowledging that more.. but that is us...onward and upward to the next goal..
Orsino, put this headgear on..you never know when one of us is going to back in here and turn this thread upside down :)

24. I think we're not acknowledging it... |
|
...for the same reasons our Democratic leaders aren't. This is the beginning of withdrawal, and it's hard to sell that as a position of strength to a public bamboozled by the television.
What surprises me is that the Republicans are not chanting "cut and run" in unison, 24/7.

4. Well if the Repugs were less "trunk on tail" and kicked more ass like the donkeys, |
|
maybe they would have kicked Bush's ass long before he became one of the worst presidents we ever had.
Being a Democrat does not mean we have to accept every crappy piece of legislation our Congress critters try to shove down our throats. And that goes for the president too.
So far, most of what they are trying to pass is watered down like cheap drinks at some dive.

We're a better because we demand better leadership.
If I wanted to just go along with everything I would have been happy to suck Bush's tailpipe for 8 years.

You are probably closer to the truth than most of us are willing to admit. Please remember that Democrats have never been very united even if you go back to the days of the revolution. That's the way we are and in the long run we have accomplished much more than Republicans.

Come on, we have Social Democrats, Classical Liberal "Centrists", Socially-Conservative Populists, and left-leaning Libertarians in one party. No wonder we can't agree on anything.
(I'm in the Left-Leaning Libertarian category BTW)

Not that I have prior information concerning the marital status of your parents at the time of your conception, but I mean the magnificent part just the same.
I always tie my thumbs together before posting here. Keeps the attempts to strangle myself, ala Dr Strangelove, down to a minimum.

20. I think Will Rogers said it best: |

"I'm not a member of any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."
I will say that I have much more respect for a Party that has lively debates than one that marches in lock-step.
