A couple of Austin stories. |
|
First, my son-in-law, who is Lebanese, works in a small office where everyone else is very conservative/Republican. He has put up with racist, political jokes the entire time but this is the topper: a colleague put up a poster that says, "Jesus loves you, Allah wants you dead." My son-in-law is very easy going and lets most things pass but this one, he's talking to the boss about. He can't afford to change jobs right now but it will definitely happen soon!
Second, my daughter drives through West Austin (ecclectic but lots of old money) neighborhoods every day and she noticed lots of Kerry signs. Yesterday a whole row of signs was spray-painted black. But what's great is that the homeowners just put out fresh, clean signs and planted them right next to the vandalized signs to make a point! Good for them!

1. Undoubtedly, it's tough to be a dem in Texas |

Your son-in-law has every right to complain about that poster. Hope the boss has enough sense to remove it.
I'm seeing more and more Kerry yard signs throughout Houston. Wouldn't it be something if the state voted democrat? OK, I know, I know, but a girl can dream, can't she?
