1. One thing about lameducks is that they're kind of Free, aren't they, to SAY or DO things they couldn
't have said or done otherwise, things that, by their estimates, NEED saying and doing.

4. Well there's always Palin's photo spread in Runners World to comfort him
Or maybe somebody stole his copy and that is why he is so cranky.

7. repukes still don't get it, though
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 11:47 AM by mrs_p
i dislike her because she has used her boobs and not her brains to get where she is... there are so many strong women in my life who got where they are today through hard work - and in some instances they have been overlooked by floozies like palin who get everything for nothing. it absolutely disgusts me... and men who do it make me just as sick too.

9. none of this makes a difference...the more they opine that she's toast, the harder they'll
push the meme that her comeback in 2012 is "remarkable and unprecedented".

What she will do is disappear for a couple of years, working behind the scenes or as a GOP fundraiser. She'll emerge at the last minute (not having created any gaffs or youtube cringe interviews for a while) and claim to represent the real America and run for 2012 nomination. That's one reason why she was so popular in the last election...she burst on the scene and because she was briefly unfamiliar, she rose to stardom. But her approvals decline with time so she needs to limit her exposure until the last minute next time around too.

12. Disagree....that dog won't hunt twice.
Palin can't escape the voluminous gaffes she made since June of 2008.

Starting with not knowing "what it is that the VP does everyday" and ending with comments about dead fish in front of an Alaskan pond, the imagery of her time in the limelight as a serious candidate is complete. The imagery of her sharing speaking engagements and air time with Mr. Bouncy Bounce and her fawning fan club on talk shows is sadly just getting warmed up.

I was hoping for a more epic flame out....something like a Palin-Jindal ticket that would have been 100% FAIL in 2012, but now I will just have to remember to keep the remote control handy to avoid seeing her sure to be legion TV appearances in the near future.

Unlike others who stepped aside in defeat in the past, Palin QUIT. She didn't like the way the other kids played rough and decided to take her ball and go home. End of story for political future...but all she needs to do is throw out a few Jesus references (and maybe get a visit from the witch doctor this fall) and all will be forgiven with the idiot 20%'ers in this nation. Thankfully that 20% is demographically doomed to be less and less of the total population for the rest of my lifetime...pity that I wasn't born 20 years later!

13. She'll never be able to stay "behind the scenes", though
She's too obsessed with the spotlight... and it with her.

11. Damn! Lowry pretty well numbers her from a righty perspective.
He's an able political reporter, but out of his league as editor. National Review, though, has never shared the lowbrow right's enthusiasm over Palin.
