Has Obama's Poll Numbers Gone Negative?

And apparently its all due to the economy.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

I know the first stimulus hasn't even barely went into effect yet, but something better be done soon to provide real relief for so many struggling people out there, or else 2012 is going to be looking real bleak...

4. You think they're cooking the books?
I know they got a lot of flak from McCain supporters when they said that Obama was ahead 6 points just before the 2008 election...

8. Their disapproval rating is notoriously high
I think its because they dont have a neutral option in their poll. So if somebody is really on the fence, their is no option for them.

10. Not cooking the books... using a false metric
Only counting STRONG approval or disapproval, and completely throwing out about 1/3 of the responses who were only "MILD" approval or disapproval.

When ALL responses are included, Obama's approval is 55% to 44%.

15. Yes as a matter of fact I do
They persistently had McCain running a few points better than all the other polls all last year, then they conveniently lined their poll up with all the others in the last few days before the election. Because the final election eve poll is the one that is recorded for posteriety.

5. Nope... Rasmussen uses a false metric

They are only counting those that "STRONGLY" approve and those that "STRONGLY" disapprove.... leaving out nearly 30% of the responses that were "MILD" approval or disapproval.

When simply asked "Do you approve or disapprove".... even Rasmussen has Obama with 55% approval and 44% disapproval.

Their metric shows that 37% STRONGLY disapprove and 32% STRONGLY approve.

It means that the ones that hate Obama REALLY hate him... but the ones that like him aren't as intense in their emotion.

Rasmussen NEVER used this metric before.... for any President ever... before Obama. It's the only metric they can find that shows him in a negative light and it is a bullshit metric.

14. There's absolutely no legitimate reason to calculate approval using the extremes.
Rasmussen is now and always has been a charlatan.

6. Why bother posting a Razzy poll here? Its always BS and off by like 10 points or more.
Gallup has him at a 61% average for June.

7. The fave "pollster" of republicans.
Sludge has your image up now. Hmmm...

Anyway, Rasmussen is a Repub pollster with a dodgy robo-call methodology who calculates "approval" unlike any reputable pollster, and likely massages his digits until they say what he wants. Other than that, he's not all bad.

17. Rasumssen is the pollster that has the public option at around 40 percent support
every other pollster has it at around 80% I admit if you look at other pollsters Obama's approval has taken a hit in recent days but even Gallup the pollster with the closest results to Rassmussen has him at 56/36
