CINCINNATI -- The Vice President is coming to the Tri-State Thursday to highlight the progress of the recovery act in Ohio.
Vice President Joe Biden will be in Cincinnati's Northside Thursday morning to see first hand how federal stimulus dollars may help revitalize part of the older, inner city neighborhood.
The old American Can Company building and the former Myron Johnson Lumber site are now being called "Factory Square", with plans to put in 96 apartments and retail space on the currently vacant property.
Over $1.6 million in community block grants will help spark work on the $22 million project.
The Vice President's visit to this Northside property, just off Hamilton Avenue, comes less than a week after Republican congressional leader and Tri-State Congressman John Boehner questioned the number of jobs created by billions of dollars in stimulus program spending.
Officials have not yet released job creation estimates in connection to the American Can Building project; however, they say the effort will bring dozens of construction jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in economic development to Northside.
The Vice President will land at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport Thursday morning and then travel to the speech site by motorcade. His public news conference is scheduled to start just after 10:15 a.m.
