2. I had high expectations of Ed in the beginning but have completely lost it for the guy
He still has some good things to say but for the most part he's overly extreme.

16. He would have been an awesome quarterback. Ditka missed on that. one
He tried out for the Bears, but Ditka did not even take a look at him. Some say he had the right stuff to be an NFL quarterback, but it did not happen.

But his quarterback character shows on his show. He leads the way, and that's his way or the highway, I don't always agree with him, but he is focused, passionate and informed, and if you want to debate against him, better come prepared and with a solid defense, because he sure is going to go on the offense from the get go.

Notice how he often says "I invited so or so (from the right) on the show but he/she declined the invitation"

That's because he would tear these guys to pieces. Imagine Kyl (I really need to move out of AZ)or Boehner on the Ed Show.

There'd be blood on the walls.

Was I misinformed on the Internets?

15. He was on AAR at first and disapproved some of their business model
He was all for the money, which made some, who were for the "let's all chip in" model, angry.

Since then some ex-AAR stars (like Miller and Rhodes) are on his side, now.

He always thought that if progressive radio was to succeed, it would have to go after advertisers.

I have been a fan of his show since it appeared on (then disappeared from) my local AAR affiliate.

Note that my local AAR affiliate (Nova-M) also disappeared.

Progressive radio is having a hard time in Phoenix, when KTAR spews its hate speech on the FM.

22. Actually, Ed and (Stephanie) Miller were never actually with Air American Radio.
They were picked up and added to some individual radio stations across the country, but have never been on AAR's payroll.

13. He's a former conservative. His transition to progressive began when his wife took him to a homeless
shelter and he met some homeless Veterans. I'm glad to hear Big Ed's going after the Blue Dogs! I'll have to check out his TV show more often. I listened to his radio show every day at lunch when it was on in SoCal.

18. They're all in the same pocket.
Clearly profit care is more important in America than patient care. If our health care system was so great and was the best care in the world, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. As a former health care giver, I am ashamed and sad to see what is called quality health care in TN & VA.

How many more have to die before we demand health care reform ?

19. I haven't always agreed with him and I listened to him for years before he got his Ed Show.
He has swung farther and farther left as he's been exposed to the bullshit that passes for party politics in this country.

Right now, he and Dr. Howard Dean are the two biggest advocates for healthcare for all Americans.

Give 'um Hell, Big Ed!!!

23. Big Ed is kicking some ass. He is exactly the kind of guy needed on the Left....
He and Bill Maher are saying the same thing regarding a party that represents the public interest. Both are kicking ass these days.

25. Ed is the perfect person to go after them
#1 He is not afraid to be partisan (as opposed to issues-oriented) most of the time, When he breaks partisan ranks it is more powerful than the usual bleating of an ideologue.

#2 Because the listen to him since he represents the common-person segment of the Democratic coalition

27. Anyone who doesn't support a progressive agenda should be exposed.
Funny how people will praise the opportunist Ed for going after them - the Blue Dogs, Sen Al, even the President - but they criticize others who happen to have real progressive credentials when they do the same thing.

28. Don't know if I'd call Ed opportunistic, but I agree that all those standing in the way...
...of a truly progressive agenda should be called out ~ that's what the bully pulpit is for.
