Carly Fiorina seems to be prepping for a bout with Barbara Boxer
Carly Fiorina, whose rocky tenure as chief executive of Hewlett Packard ended with her firing, is making serious preparations to run next year for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).

Fiorina's candidacy would be her first foray into elective politics and would turn California's Senate contest into one of the most closely watched in 2010.

In a state that tilts strongly toward Democrats, Boxer would still be favored to win a fourth term, polls suggest.

But Fiorina, a top economic advisor to John McCain in the 2008 presidential race, would be the wealthiest Republican ever to face the Democratic incumbent, making her a more serious threat than previous rivals. Fiorina's personal fortune -- her HP severance alone exceeded $21 million after six years as chief executive -- ensures she could run a full-scale campaign.

If Fiorina won the GOP nomination, she would also be the first woman to challenge Boxer, a milestone for a state Republican Party that has rarely fielded female candidates for high office. Most voters in California are women, and Boxer's appeals to women have been a cornerstone of her 17-year tenure in the Senate. This year, Boxer was outspoken in urging President Obama to nominate a woman to the Supreme Court, as he ultimately did.

8. She's got Silicon Valley sewed up
Boxer, that is. Fiorina's none too popular in these parts after she destroyed the culture Bill&Dave (that's Hewlett and Packard) nurtured and ran their company into the ground.

However, Fiorina has to make it through the Repub. primary first, and those voters tend to vote the straight batshit crazy ticket.

She was a non-techie running, at the time, one of the best tech companies in the world, and she pissed off everybody there. She's an empty-headed corporate suit.

14. I remember some interview with her
when she was on the McCain team. She had enough gold chains and bangles to pave Cleveland. Way to win over the middle class Carly.

Then she made some pro choice statement and that was then end of Carly as a McCain spokesmodel.

20. There is more dirt on Fiorina and more bad quotes than any other candidate
My Dad worked somewhat under her during her Lucent years. There isn't a company or a department that this woman didn't run into the ground.

One of her ground breaking ideas was to force all engineers over 55 into retirement and replace them with kids right out of college to save money. 30 years experience didn't seem to matter to her.

Lucent is owned by the French now.

33. Not only HP hates her, add ten of thousands of Western Electric Employees.
She was the mini-mind behind the destruction of Western Electric by transforming it into Lucent Technologies. Now Lucent doesn't even exist and of the 50,000 employees that used to make up Western Eclectic nothing remains and the few thousand who were left were canned when Alcatel bought the what was left of the company. Thousands of Lucent employees saw their stock go from trading in the 80'to a buck a share. She is the personification of what is wrong with corporate America. Nothing more than a greedy scheming bitch whose career took off after she began an affair with Florina, an AT&T executive, who dumped his wife for her.
