That's rich. Senator Sessions (Racist-AL) says Sotomayor "out of mainstream"

Sessions: Sonia Sotomayor 'out of mainstream'
WASHINGTON, 07.13.2009
By MARK SHERMAN , Associated Press Writer

The leading Judiciary Committee Republican is charging that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is "out of the mainstream" of legal thinking and has a very activist judicial profile.

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama made the assertion just hours before Sotomayor, who would be the third woman to join the court, was to face her initial confirmation hearing.

Sessions also said on CBS's "The Early Show" that he thought the native New York appeals court judge deserves a fair hearing. He quickly added that Republicans on the Judiciary panel won't hesitate to question her closely on her judicial philosophy.

2. Sessions is an idiot...
why didn't the Senate look "closely" at the the R nominated justices?

Talk about an "activist" court...they are little more than corporate shills and people that have a view that the even the BoR's should not be iun The Constitution, (except for the 2nd Amendment).

8. Let them.
They will look worse than they already do right now. She will be confirmed. This is not a fight worth fighting.

9. the only good judges are the right leaning ones according to Sessions
Alito, Roberts, and Scalia were all confirmed easily and everyone knew how far to the right they were. It's only a perceived belief that someone may lean left that gets discussed in right and left terms. The Dems should be right out there saying how easy the confirmation of Alito and Roberts were even though we all knew they were rightists.

18. Their stupid, repetitive, canned "buzz words" are so predictable. And unoriginal.
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 07:31 PM by Vektor
Disingenuous "scary" words that get the flat-earth crowd all fired up. Without fail. Decade after decade. No matter how many times they are regurgitated and misused:

"Activist"
"Abortion on Demand" - (Kind of like movies on demand.)
"Homosexual Agenda"
"Partial Birth Abortion"
"Socialist"
"Communist"
"Pro-abortion"
"Radical Left"

(Just a small sampling.)

Those poor little pea-brained conservatives. So darn predictable. Sure to start the knee-jerk, Pavlovian mouth foaming the second someone uses a "trigger" word.
