Missed Morning Sotomayor Confirmation Session - Did anyone bring up.......
Bush v. Gore as the classic example of "activist Judges run amok" yet?

Considering that this case brought us 8 years of George Bush,
has there been any mentions of the case, or is it considered a "Taboo" subject?

1. Sen. Kyle

he asked her about it, but I didn't catch the gist. If you check a transcript it's pretty early on in his questioning.

Edit: It wasn't Kyle. It was the the Sen. after Sessions, I think.

2. Thanks!
I wondered what was asked about it?

I would be surprised that Sen. Kyle would have mentioned it, considering that he doesn't seem like the type.

3. I thought it was Kohl
who asked her about it. She was noncommittal about the result of the case but talked about how it made states look into election reform.

4. So in your opinion....did Kohl give a subtle knock of Bush v. Gore being
a result of Activist Judges running wild?

5. Yes, here is his question on this subject.
KOHL: Judge, Bush v. Gore. Many critics saw the Bush v. Gore decision as an example of the judiciary improperly injecting itself into a political dispute. In your opinion, should the Supreme Court even have decided to get involved in Bush v. Gore?
